Dream Of
A Burned Forest

"Dream of a Burned Forest" is a collection consisting of twenty abstract and 3D paintings, along with three installations. In this collection, inspired by the nature of the Niagara region, I strive to capture the emotional journey of people who are forced to leave their homes in search of a better future. Just like a burned forest that can flourish again with care, the human spirit, too, can heal and grow with hope.  The hard edges in my work symbolize the personal struggles and twists each individual faces. The large trees represent the larger obstacles they encounter along the way, while the orange rivers metaphorically represent those who find their path through difficulty; navigating between all these sharp edges and heavy barriers. Like rivers that never stop and always find a way forward, they embody hope, determination, and resilience.​​ This body of work was honored with the Best of Student Award at TOAF, the Marie Collins Memorial Award, and the Artscape Award in 2023, as well as the Juror’s Award of Excellence at the Ontario Juried Art Exhibition, Thames Art Gallery, Chatham-Kent, Canada, in 2025.
